Now with HD Closed Captioning 03/30/2007

If you need it, we've got it.  Gamma Blast now offers HD closed captioning.  We're one of only a handful of places in the Western Hemisphere that offers the service.  (A cool accomplishment that's great for clients, if we may say so ourselves.)

So if you're sending your tapes to New York, L.A. or Colorado and experiencing a long turnaround, know that Gamma Blast can be (sound the trumpets) quicker and more reasonably priced with an easy experience.

"We just want to make it easy on our clients.  We've heard stories where clients had to send tapes to two places to get a project captioned for HD," says Manager Debbie Wamsley.  "Here, if a client needs an up-convert, we can do that and caption for HD as well."

Closed captioning is required due to the Telecommunications Act of 1996 that says all new video programs must be captioned unless exempted.  So if you're broadcasting in HD, that means you need an HD closed caption.

If you want more information or an estimate, contact Debbie at or 615.321.9552 x332.

Brian Wilson (not actually pictured) Added to the Gamma Blast Staff! 03/01/2007
Wouldn't it be nice if you had an editor that gave off a good vibration? Starting March 5th, Brian Wilson's little deuce coupe (that's what they call Hondas these days, right?) will be out in the parking lot, giving Gamma Blast better odds than Surf City when it comes to the ol' editors to client ratio.

All Beach Boys frivolity aside, Brian brings a vast and varied skill set to Gamma Blast. Speciallizing in long form editing, Brian has cut everything from feature films to music videos. It shouldn't be surprising that his music chops are top notch, as well. With a name like that, how can they not?

Pow ... We gussied ourselves up for you. 02/01/2007

The first of the year, gamma rays blasted big changes to Music City Digital.  Bye, Bye Music City Digital, hello Gamma Blast.  New owners, Jeff Alton and Chad Denning decided they needed to recharge MCD with a new name and spirit.  It's now a radioactive place for you to work, experiment and create post production, DVD interactive and music services projects.  The new name means:

  • New ownership.  Yep, can you believe, they gave Denning and Alton keys to the place?
  • 95% of the time you'll be working with an owner. No more "we'll see what can be done" and hello "is that better?"
  • A reflection of our desire to produce work that's so good it melts faces.

Now, let's hear news about you...

Miss America on CMT and Gamma Blast. A beautiful thing. 01/29/2007

The Miss America pageant aired tonight complete with 26 packages on the contestants edited by Gamma Blast's team and delivered to CMT. Along with the packages we even threw in two celebratory cakes, one in the shape of a Miss America contestant, congratulating CMT on another successful endeavor.

"Let them eat cake!" we said, puttting the icing on the project.
